THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN! ACCOUNTABILITY REIGNS SUPREME

What am I doing up at 4am...watching the election results of course.  I can't help it, something about competition, mean angry words, and screaming fans just wakes me up in the middle of the night.  Have to say that CNN.com has some great coverage.  For example, I know that Lealan Jones, my former Anderson Park Browns teammate received 3% of the vote in Illinois U.S Senate Race, that Marijuana will probably not be legalized in California (only 18% precincts reporting), and that the former farrier Lincoln Chafee won the Rhode Island governorship as an Independent.  An accountant that reported to me in a former life was a farrier and that's the only reason I know that Lincoln went to school for horseshoeing.  Last little election tidbit, did you know that Rhode Island's actual state name is "The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations"? On CNN.com I read about their only ballot proposal, name change to just "Rhode Island".  The proposal is going to lose in a landslide, 78% to 22%.  All I can say is that I see a great deal of RED out there in the Great United States of America.

The joys of the midterm elections...exciting, very exciting.

Now off to Europe...So when I started my international man of mystery and intrigue blog, the intent was to give the power to the people.  Sorry it's so difficult to stop speaking all political when the voting addiction is rushing through my veins.  Remember, I was going to take ideas from folks and then choose an idea, execute the idea and then document it.  It's accountability time here at (CH)ICAGO ABROAD.

What's next? My wife and I are going to travel to Lucerne, Switzerland next weekend.  This marks our first trip away from the kanton of Zurich and we're excited to hit the road and see what Lucerne has to offer.
